Patient Scheduling and Insurance Specialist

About the role

A remote role supporting a busy primary care practice by coordinating appointments, checking insurance details and keeping patient records accurate in an electronic health record system.

What you will do

• Book, confirm and reschedule visits for new and returning patients across several providers
• Verify demographic and insurance data, then enter it correctly into the EHR
• Keep charts complete and current, noting scheduling activity and patient contact
• Follow practice scheduling rules and pass appointment instructions on to patients
• Arrange specialist or referral bookings where needed and flag complex issues upward

What they look for

• Prior work as a medical virtual assistant, receptionist, registration specialist or similar administrative healthcare role
• Hands-on experience coordinating and rescheduling patient appointments
• Background verifying insurance eligibility, coverage and patient demographic details
• Comfort navigating EHR systems and maintaining accurate patient records
• Solid grasp of medical terminology and healthcare administrative processes
• Strong English communication, phone manner and close attention to detail

Pay

USD 5 to 6 per hour
