What you will do

• Frame foundational open problems, theoretical bounds and computational challenges that allow demonstrable progress
• Steer AI models and agents through multi-step research work such as proofs, algorithms, numerical experiments and simulations
• Verify findings through proof checking, computational reproduction and formal methods
• Judge the novelty, correctness and significance of outputs against existing literature
• Write short memos on attempted solutions, partial progress, model limits and recurring reasoning failures
• Propose promising research directions and help set evaluation standards that separate real progress from unsupported claims

What they look for

• A strong publication record at leading conferences, journals or other recognised venues
• Proven ability to test technical claims rigorously, reproduce results and spot gaps in mathematical or computational reasoning
• Solid grasp of the research literature and established results in the field
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills, plus the ability to work independently on ambiguous problems
