Research Analyst, Healthcare Finance Sales

About the role

You support the sales team of a national Medicaid financing practice by turning research on providers and state Medicaid environments into reports that guide which opportunities and prospects to pursue.

What you will do

• Study Medicaid financing programmes and provider financial data, including cost reports and state budget information
• Build profiles of hospitals, physicians and state environments showing where financing opportunities exist
• Produce custom reports for sales staff and leadership to steer prospect identification and pursuit
• Coordinate with colleagues in other functions so outputs are accurate and delivered on schedule
• Set and maintain research standards, procedures and templates

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree in health policy, healthcare finance, health administration or a related field
• Three to four years of professional experience in Medicaid, healthcare or human services, or fewer years plus relevant advanced education
• Strong mathematics and Excel skills, including handling large data sets
• Experience producing research outputs independently for senior leaders
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MPH or MHA, or a graduate degree in analytics, finance, business or economics with healthcare experience
• Finance analysis experience
• Knowledge of the state healthcare landscape, including Medicaid, health and human services agencies, public health, insurance or managed car
• Familiarity with financial modelling or readiness to learn it quickly
