Risk Analyst II

About the role

Review and approve merchant applications, watch customer transactions for risk, and resolve payments-related escalations for a growing payments business.

What you will do

• Examine merchant applications against KYC and anti-money laundering requirements
• Assess flagged transactions and alerts and recommend action based on payments standards
• Help build fraud detection and risk management tools and suggest improvements
• Study merchant transaction histories to set risk levels and approve processing limits
• Handle questions from customers, partners and internal teams
• Work with onboarding, support and outside partners on payment processing matters

What they look for

• At least a high school diploma, with a bachelor's degree preferred
• Three to seven years in payments, covering underwriting, monitoring, support or fraud and risk
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google tools, particularly spreadsheets
• Familiar with merchant processing systems and card brand rules such as Visa and Mastercard
• Aware of PCI compliance and able to interpret credit card processing statements
• Strong analysis, research and attention to detail, with confidence contacting merchants by email or phone
