Senior Accountant, Government Contract Accounting

About the role

A remote senior accounting role delivering technical accounting work for government contractor clients, covering closes, reporting and compliance, without managing staff or a client portfolio.

What you will do

• Run month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheets and assemble close packages
• Process payroll, labor distribution, accounts payable and receivable, and set up projects
• Apply GAAP and government contract rules, and prepare audit workpapers and special projects
• Track deadlines across engagements and suggest ways to improve delivery

What they look for

• At least five years of progressive accounting experience including government contract work
• Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DCAA and CAS, covering cost allowability and indirect cost allocation
• Hands-on use of Unanet, QuickBooks, Deltek Costpoint or a similar accounting system
• U.S. citizenship as client contracts require

Nice to have

• Prior success delivering accounting services in a consulting setting
• Experience with both Unanet and QuickBooks
• CPA certification

Pay

USD 95,000 to 115,000 per year
