Senior Business Development Manager, US

About the role

Drive growth of a public sector technology company across the United States by winning local government clients and closing multi-year deals. The role also helps shape the regional go-to-market approach.

What you will do

• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and demos to proposals, procurement and closing
• Cultivate long-term ties with local government decision-makers and their teams
• Build your own pipeline through outreach, referrals, warm leads and events
• Add structure and seniority to the go-to-market approach and help define the regional playbook
• Work with the regional team and European colleagues, sharing field insights with product, marketing and customer success

What they look for

• Seven or more years working with or for local government, with clear commercial wins such as contracts, partnerships, grants or revenue
• A consultative selling style with an entrepreneurial, autonomous and organised mindset
• Resilience in the face of long sales cycles and public sector uncertainty
• Excellent communication across channels, from cold calls to council presentations
• A collaborative, coachable attitude motivated by mission and impact
• Based in the US in Eastern or Central time, willing to travel about 25 to 30 percent
