Senior Software Engineer, Query

About the role

Join a team that owns the system providing fast, reliable access to pipeline and test history, serving product teams and customers through APIs. The role focuses on building data storage, ingestion and query capabilities at growing scale.

What you will do

• Approach problems with AI tools as the default starting point for engineering work
• Own and harden the ClickHouse storage layer, designing schemas and tuning ingestion and query performance
• Build ingestion pipelines from event streams and durable workflows on Temporal
• Evolve the platform into the default route for historical queries, adding indexing, caching and tiered storage
• Lead design discussions on complex problems, document architecture decisions and choose which data domain to migrate next
• Use Honeycomb, Datadog and Rollbar to monitor ingestion lag, query latency and data correctness

• Daily use of AI tools, with concrete examples of what was built and where the tools fell short
• Hands-on experience building or owning data-intensive systems such as ingestion pipelines or event-driven architectures
• A habit of investigating root causes and fixing the underlying practice, process or system
