Senior Transmission Line Engineer

About the role

Serve as an engineer on high-voltage and extra high-voltage overhead and underground transmission design projects for large utilities. Apply industry codes to analyses, bidding documents, specifications and construction packages.

What you will do

• Design overhead and underground transmission systems, voltage conversion, capacity and replacement projects
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and related standards to engineering and design work
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications
• Draft material procurement and construction documents
• Develop project scopes, budgets and proposals
• Interface with clients and with planning, environmental, permitting and construction teams

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least five years designing electric utility transmission systems
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE requirements, specifications, schedules and work packages
• Leadership and supervisory experience
• Ability to work both independently and within a team, and to communicate with clients
• Residence in Michigan, with periodic travel possible

Nice to have

• EIT, FE or Professional Engineer licence
• GO95 familiarity
• Experience with PLS TOWER, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley ProjectWise, Mathcad or Autodesk AutoCAD
• Construction management and support background
