About the role

Join a distributed team of engineers dedicated to making every part of a web browser as fast as possible across Windows, Android, Linux and macOS. The work focuses on finding and fixing slowdowns and helping other teams write efficient code.

What you will do

Write code and tests, build prototypes and profile performance bottlenecks
Investigate a wide range of problems across a large and evolving codebase
Fix performance issues using languages such as C++, JavaScript, Kotlin, Rust and Python
Coach engineers on other teams through reviews, talks, tooling and documentation
Split complex performance problems into concrete steps and see them through
Collaborate with engineering teams across the organization and lead efforts in your area

What they look for

Curiosity and enjoyment in tracking down hard to find problems
Ability to reason about systems as a whole
Strong skills in C++ and JavaScript, with other languages a plus
Experience profiling and analyzing performance bottlenecks
Comfort working openly in a geographically distributed team
