Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Lead technical delivery and mentor engineers on a team that builds and maintains the platforms behind staffing and healthcare services. The role drives architecture, quality and AI-assisted product development.

What you will do

• Build, test and maintain production software using SOLID principles and established engineering practices
• Apply AI tools through specification, coding and review while critically judging and owning the output
• Take part in architecture discussions and use proven patterns for resilient, secure and performant systems
• Review code, give constructive feedback and confirm work matches the specification
• Work with product and stakeholders to align scope and business value
• Reduce technical debt and break epics into small executable tasks

What they look for

• Comfort with ambiguity, strong agency, systems thinking and product judgment
• Fluency in relevant languages, frameworks, databases, version control, CI/CD, containers and cloud
• Knowledge of service-based architecture and mature design patterns
• Clear communication with stakeholders on scope, approach and value
• M.S. or B.S. in computer science or a related STEM field
• At least eight years at senior software engineer level

Nice to have

• JavaScript, Java, Salesforce Apex or Node.js experience
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or GitHub Actions experience
• RESTful API design, service-based architecture and data modeling
