Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Fraud Decisioning)

About the role

A senior engineering role leading fraud decisioning work. The person builds systems and tools that assess risk and improve fraud detection across the user journey.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver large initiatives that span multiple teams, from scoping through maintenance
• Design clean, robust systems and write code others can easily read and reuse
• Review colleagues' work and give feedback that keeps quality consistent
• Coach and mentor engineers, giving them context and ownership of their parts
• Balance stakeholder input, champion ideas and build shared understanding
• Take part in technical and soft skill interviews and shape hiring content

What they look for

• Six to ten or more years as a software engineer, including leading and mentoring others
• Track record of designing, shipping, coding and maintaining complex systems
• Enthusiasm for partnering with product, machine learning, analytics and business teams
• Ability to guide a team on development best practices as a technical leader
• Skill at turning complex business, product and technical needs into strong designs and software
• Systems thinking that breaks business and product needs into modules or components
