Staff Software Engineer, On-Prem

About the role

Join a team that maintains a self-hosted continuous integration and delivery platform for organisations needing to run everything inside their own infrastructure, including regulated and air-gapped environments. The role shapes platform strategy and reliability for both external customers and internal engineering teams.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for tooling, test infrastructure and release automation used by internal teams shipping into the platform
• Simplify installation and make upgrades safer and daily operation easier for customers running the product in their own environments
• Take ownership of the platform foundation, from the Kubernetes infrastructure it deploys into to the tooling teams rely on
• Standardise observability on OpenTelemetry and build diagnostics that help operators reach root causes quickly
• Work with support, customer engineering and customers to spot recurring problems and fix them at the source
• Partner with product and engineering management to turn business goals into technical strategy

What they look for

• A platform mindset, favouring reusable tools and frameworks that make other engineers more productive over one-off fixes
• Prior experience building internal platforms and the ability to explain the leverage they gave teams
• Daily use of AI tools, with concrete examples of what was built, how approaches changed and where the tools fall short
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Helm
