Conceptual Reasoning Fellow

About the role

A four month fellowship placing domain experts in philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy and law alongside research teams to test and improve how frontier models reason in their fields.

What you will do

• Spot the central unresolved questions in your discipline and use the models to push them forward
• Name societal problems where your field's expertise is essential and judge model strengths and gaps
• Create evaluations and reinforcement learning settings that systematically probe reasoning in your domain
• Join other fellows in your field to build tests around the most judgment heavy problems

What they look for

• Enthusiasm for AI reasoning on hard questions where expert judgment is decisive
• Practical daily use of Claude and Claude Code
• Comfort delivering concrete results in a fast moving, high agency setting
• Authorisation to work in the United States for the programme's duration

Nice to have

• Experience building evaluations, benchmarks, datasets or expert rubrics
• Recognised depth in your field through research, scholarship or expert analytical writing
