Intermodal Dispatcher

About the role

Coordinate overnight intermodal transport operations, tracking containers and drivers while keeping customers, rail providers and the daytime team informed.

What you will do

• Dispatch and coordinate 10 to 15 intermodal drivers on overnight shifts
• Plan driver schedules, container pickups, deliveries and reloads to cut empty miles
• Track shipments and containers and update statuses in the transport management system
• Handle operational emails and escalate urgent issues to the daytime team
• Answer customer questions about shipment status, delays and extra charges
• Schedule appointments and enter work orders and shipment details

What they look for

• Prior experience dispatching US freight, including intermodal work
• Comfort working overnight shifts in a fast-paced logistics setting
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
• Good written and spoken customer communication
• Familiarity with transport management systems and spreadsheets
