Labor and Employee Relations Manager France

About the role

This role gives employee relations advice and handles cases for staff, managers and HR partners in France. It makes sure such matters follow company policy and local employment law, and links the business with works councils and a central employee relations team.

What you will do

• Advise HR and business leaders on employee relations questions and apply policies and employment law consistently
• Handle individual and collective cases, including workforce reductions and changes needing works council consultation
• Run and support performance improvement, disciplinary actions and grievance hearings with the central team
• Help create and keep up employee relations policies, procedures, toolkits and standard work
• Track case data and reporting, spot trends and suggest ways to reduce risk and improve effectiveness

What they look for

• A bachelor's degree, a law degree or comparable education and experience
• At least ten years in employee relations, HR business partnering, employment law or a similar HR field in the jurisdiction
• Experience with investigations, performance management, discipline, grievances and workforce reductions
• Experience in a unionized setting or with works councils and employee representative bodies
• Knowledge of the employment laws and rules that apply in the jurisdiction
• Willingness to travel up to a quarter of the time

Nice to have

• Employee relations experience in a manufacturing setting
• Strong skills in preparing and negotiating collective agreements
