Major Gifts Manager

About the role

Leads individual fundraising and grows the donor base to meet yearly growth targets. Works with leadership and staff on donor strategy while supervising a development coordinator.

What you will do

• Build and run a portfolio of over 90 current and potential donors giving USD 10,000 to 100,000 or more yearly
• Create tailored plans for cultivating, asking and recognizing individual donors, including in-person or virtual meetings
• Supervise the development coordinator's database, gift processing and admin work
• Find new major donor prospects through networks, events and mid-level donor data
• Design creative stewardship touchpoints that show donors the impact of their gifts
• Keep donor records accurate in the CRM and help leadership track fundraising metrics

What they look for

• Three to five years as a major gift fundraiser with a discovery portfolio track record
• Experience closing gifts of USD 25,000 or more and keeping long-term donor relationships
• Experience managing and tracking many prospects and donors at once
• Training or coursework in current charitable giving trends such as donor advised funds and high-end annual giving
• Genuine passion for conservation and gender equity work
• Ability to work independently and adapt as priorities shift, plus strong storytelling and appeal writing

Nice to have

• Supervisory experience is preferred

Pay

USD 46.15 to 53.53 per hour
