Medical Virtual Assistant, Lab Results and Patient Coordination

About the role

Support a busy primary care practice by relaying provider-reviewed lab and imaging results to patients, arranging follow-up visits, and keeping charts accurate. The role handles communication and coordination, not clinical interpretation.

What you will do

• Contact patients by phone to share results and instructions that providers have already reviewed and documented
• Explain administrative next steps and arrange follow-up appointments when the provider requests one
• Coordinate repeat labs, imaging, referrals, and other follow-up needs according to provider direction
• Record each patient interaction, scheduling change, and follow-up action in the EHR
• Escalate clinical questions, unclear guidance, or patient concerns to providers and internal colleagues
• Keep communication calm and clear, particularly when speaking with older patients

What they look for

• Background as a medical assistant with solid clinical understanding
• Confidence and skill in speaking directly with patients by phone
• Ability to read provider notes and relay them accurately without giving medical advice
• Experience documenting in AdvancedMD or a comparable EHR
• Familiarity with phone systems such as Ooma plus email and internal messaging tools
• Careful handling of confidentiality and healthcare documentation standards

Pay

USD 5 to 6 per hour
