Reference Scenario Lead

About the role

Own a public reference scenario describing what hypothetical early deployment of sunlight reflection would involve, from supply chains to monitoring and control. The work supports expert and government assessment of feasibility, costs and consequences without presuming deployment should happen.

What you will do

• Define the scope of the first version, hold that scope as contributors push to add, and deliver on the committed date
• Maintain a dependency map across deployment hardware, monitoring, data assimilation and feedback control, flagging conflicts early
• Ensure the scenario's components are internally consistent, and document incompatibilities and their implications where they cannot be recon
• Scope, commission and quality-check work from aerospace firms, instrument developers, national labs and academic groups
• Run a first six month scoping sprint covering version one contents, exclusions, audiences, workplan and hiring plan

What they look for

• Enough technical judgment across engineering trades to detect problems in contracted and collaborative work
• Experience synthesizing contributions from many parties into one coherent deliverable
• Ability to manage external contracts and collaborations and to deliver on a fixed date
• Willingness to do a meaningful share of the analysis personally
