Retirement Plan Operations Specialist

About the role

The specialist learns the full cycle of 401(k) plan administration, from document review to testing and government reporting. The role supports clients through year-end filings while working fully remotely.

What you will do

• Gather information from clients needed to prepare annual reporting
• Check client submitted documents for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans involving rollovers and plan stock using spreadsheets and admin software
• Run 401(k) testing and reporting in administration software
• Send reminder calls and emails to clients during reporting season
• Prepare government filings such as the annual 5500 return

What they look for

• One to five years of back office financial operations experience
• Background in benefits administration or money movement
• Experience reviewing documents and processing transactions
• Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
• Willingness to train toward a plan administrator role
