About the role

Performance channels are the focus, mainly direct mail and static or text-overlay social ads. Success means copy that earns the read and the response, not just a clever headline.

What you will do

• Write direct mail from brief to delivery: envelope teasers, letters, postcards, self-mailers and inserts.
• Create headlines, body copy and calls to action for paid social statics and text-overlay ads on Meta and other platforms.
• Dream up new angles, offers and message territories that go beyond what is already running.
• Write against clear test hypotheses and turn the results into the next round of copy.
• Work with designers, the paid social creative director and performance marketers, and check copy with compliance and legal.

What they look for

• Eight or more years writing direct response or performance copy, with a portfolio covering direct mail and paid social and results you can e
• A journalist's instinct for the angle that makes a topic worth reading.
• Strong grasp of direct response: offers, headlines and hooks, persuasion short and long, urgency and clear calls to action.
• Comfort with testing and metrics such as response rate, CPA and ROAS.
• A feel for what moves different audiences across ages, income levels and genders.
