About the role

A hands-on developer focused on the data layer of a radiology workflow platform, modernizing a large SQL Server schema and data-access code while the system stays live for clinicians.

What you will do

Lead complex refactoring of a large SQL Server schema through safe, incremental, version-controlled migrations
Diagnose and fix performance problems by reading execution plans, rewriting queries and designing indexes
Migrate legacy and inline SQL in PHP and C into type-safe Kotlin and jOOQ repositories
Harden data access against injection and set consistent locking, isolation and timeout conventions
Build migration and upgrade pipelines, containerized test environments and automated regression checks
Define SQL and data-access standards, contribute to architecture decisions and mentor other developers

What they look for

Seven or more years of professional software development, with four or more focused on database code in production
Expert T-SQL on Microsoft SQL Server, covering optimization, execution plans, indexing, CTEs, window functions and set-based design
