The role sits in a virtualization team that builds and runs the layer supporting a global infrastructure, spanning traditional vSphere estates and a Kubernetes-native platform for internal developers.
What you will do
- Run and improve hyperconverged virtualization built on KubeVirt and Rancher Harvester within the developer platform
- Design, roll out and maintain vSphere setups across data centers, offices, points of presence and remote sites
- Handle virtual machine lifecycles on both platforms, covering live migration, capacity planning and cluster upkeep
- Work with platform and application groups to turn workload needs into virtualization requirements
- Diagnose and fix performance and stability problems across vSphere, KubeVirt and Harvester
- Build and support distributed storage such as VSAN and Longhorn for virtual machines and containers
What they look for
- At least five years administering VMware vSphere and ESXi
- Basic grasp of Kubernetes concepts and cluster operations, or a strong wish to learn them
- Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell and PowerCLI
- Solid technical, analytical and communication abilities
- Able to juggle several projects and set priorities well
