Supervisor, MLS Data Review

About the role

Supervise a data review team so that laboratory case work is completed accurately and on schedule, in line with departmental targets and regulatory standards.

What you will do

• Plan daily staffing, scheduling and sample run timetables
• Confirm production output meets department targets and that every case sample is processed and tracked
• Use laboratory information systems to keep data accurate and monitor turnaround times, tracing causes of delays
• Update standard operating procedures and coordinate with quality, training and document control staff
• Train new hires, investigate lab errors, support corrective actions and handle staff performance reviews

What they look for

• Experience supervising staff in a laboratory setting
• High proficiency with one or more laboratory information systems
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures, safety rules and regulatory compliance
• Ability to investigate errors and support corrective and preventive actions
• Strong communication skills for shift meetings and one-to-one progress talks
