Support Specialist

About the role

A support role assisting care and case managers with non-clinical tasks, including member outreach, authorizations and documentation, within a specific clinical team.

What you will do

• Reach out to newly enrolled members about approved services, equipment and requests
• Complete onboarding and personal assistant assessments, flagging risks for clinical escalation
• Initiate, update and discontinue authorizations for pre-approved services and equipment
• Document calls with members and providers on benefits, appointments, referrals and grievances
• Educate members and providers on service approval requirements while managing a large caseload

What they look for

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in a customer service environment
• Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Effective verbal and written communication with good grammar, spelling and punctuation

Nice to have

• Associate degree or certification in a related field
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with Trucare, Salesforce, HHAXchange, DocuSign, Epaces and Sharepoint
• Managed care or call center experience, Microsoft Office skills, or bilingual Spanish or Mandarin/Cantonese
