Data Engineer

About the role

Design and deliver the data capabilities behind new product features, working alongside software engineers and product partners. The work shapes how data is modelled, processed and shared securely with application services and analytics teams.

What you will do

• Work inside engineering teams to translate product needs into data models, pipeline designs and clear system interfaces
• Build and run production data operations with SQL, Python, PySpark and cloud tools such as Databricks
• Create ingestion and transformation workflows that feed usable data to services and downstream users
• Design data flows that respect tenant boundaries, source permissions and lifecycle rules including updates and deletions
• Make pipelines resilient with incremental processing, checkpointing, retries, backfills and quality checks
• Add observability for freshness, completeness, progress and failures, and improve shared datasets and pipelines

What they look for

• Experience designing, building and operating production data pipelines
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with PySpark and cloud data technologies such as Databricks
• Understanding of data contracts, permissions and lifecycle requirements across services
• Skill in evaluating architecture and tooling for reliability, performance, maintainability and cost
• Practice with design reviews, testing, documentation and deployment
