HVDC Primary and Valve Installation Supervisor

About the role

Supervise subcontractor installation of HVDC valves, cooling systems and high-voltage primary equipment on major grid projects, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality delivery. The role is site based with functional leadership but no direct reports.

What you will do

• Oversee mechanical and electrical installation work carried out by subcontractors on site
• Coordinate daily activities with site management, engineering, suppliers and installation partners
• Track progress, spot potential delays and help put corrective actions in place
• Give technical guidance to subcontractors and resolve installation issues with internal experts
• Check that teams follow approved drawings, documentation and procedures
• Carry out inspections against Inspection and Test Plans and review records and as-built drawings

What they look for

• Technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering, or comparable hands-on installation experience
• Several years supervising installation, site management or construction on large electrical or industrial projects
• Good grasp of installation processes, technical drawings, quality checks and site safety rules
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams
• Strong communication, problem solving and organisational skills with a hands-on attitude
• Good written and spoken English and willingness to travel or relocate to construction sites
