Legal Counsel

About the role

Provide legal support across commercial contracts, HR matters, corporate housekeeping and privacy for a remote-first insurtech company. Work with internal teams and outside counsel on a broad range of legal tasks.

What you will do

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS, service and vendor agreements and advise teams on risk
• Support HR on employment terms, contractor engagements and offboarding, drafting related documents
• Handle corporate housekeeping, filing documents and keeping legal records organized
• Build and improve legal templates, processes and policies and track regulatory changes
• Review NDAs and monitor contract obligations, renewals and deadlines
• Assist technical and security teams on privacy matters, including data processing and security agreements

What they look for

• A legal degree from an accredited institution
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing and editing contracts
• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Excellent organization and ability to juggle multiple tasks
• Exceptional written and spoken English, able to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers

Nice to have

• Experience at a tech company
• Qualification to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
• Background in commercial contracts, corporate housekeeping or employment matters
