Legal Regulatory Consultant

About the role

Track and analyse state and federal legislation and regulation affecting the organisation. Help legal, government relations and business teams understand and act on the resulting requirements.

What you will do

• Monitor legislative and regulatory activity at state and federal level using electronic databases
• Draft summaries and updates on legal developments for attorneys and government relations staff
• Brief business and implementation teams on relevant legal requirements
• Carry out multi-state regulatory research with legal and business colleagues
• Evaluate and redesign internal business processes and manage reporting

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree plus five years in business or project management, or nine years in that field
• Three years of regulatory or legislative experience
• Understanding of legislative processes and how to brief senior staff on legal requirements
• Skill in analysing and summarising legislative and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of the regulatory process and of health care business drivers
• Strong writing, presentation, facilitation and decision-making skills

Nice to have

• A master's degree or a J.D.
