Litigation Attorney, Insurance Defense

About the role

A litigation attorney role defending businesses, professionals and insurers in general liability and construction defect cases. Remote work across Florida is possible for strong candidates, with in-person work preferred in the St. Petersburg area.

What you will do

• Manage general liability defense and construction defect cases from start to finish
• Develop and carry out litigation strategy suited to each case
• Take and defend depositions and appear at hearings and mediations
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and correspondence
• Assess claims, defenses, liability, damages and exposure
• Prepare cases for trial and take part in trial activities

What they look for

• Two or more years of civil litigation experience
• Active Florida Bar license in good standing
• Strong research, writing, analytical, negotiation and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage cases independently and proactively
• Careful attention to detail and strong client service

Nice to have

• General liability defense and third-party liability experience
• Construction defect litigation experience
• A record of meaningful tenure and progression at prior firms

Pay

USD 135,000 to 200,000 per year
