About the role

A field sales role focused on winning new business and growing long term relationships with preK to 12 schools and districts in a western Pennsylvania territory. The person promotes literacy software, educator training and implementation services.

What you will do

• Build and carry out a territory plan timed to school calendars, funding cycles and district goals
• Find upsell and cross sell chances in existing accounts and support renewals with customer success colleagues
• Give in person and online presentations to district decision makers on pedagogy, research and results
• Cultivate ties with superintendents, curriculum and technology leaders and purchasing staff
• Prepare tailored proposals and forecasts, keeping pipeline records accurate in Salesforce
• Represent the company at regional conferences and networking events and analyze market trends

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
• Five or more years in business development, sales and account management
• Strong familiarity with the territory and existing contacts in K to 12 education
• Ability to uncover needs, propose fitting solutions and close complex deals
• Willingness to travel roughly half to three quarters of the time in the territory

Nice to have

• Literacy or reading product background
• Deep knowledge of K to 12 funding cycles, decision structures and instructional priorities
